Blender and Maya Tools

HarriExport

File Exporting Optimization (Blender)

The HarriExport is a Blender Add-On that makes exporting .fbx game assets a more straightforward process

A lot of unexpected things can happen when taking an asset from the modeling software to the game engine

By abstracting away settings we don't usually need, and exporting directly to the game engine, the process can be more efficient for back and forth editing and touch ups.

Hierarchy Flattener

Outliner Efficiencies (Maya)

After doing certain operations such as separating pieces of a mesh into two, Maya puts them in a nested group. When doing this over and over again for cleanup on a messy mesh, this makes the outliner become very disorganized.

This tool helps minimize the time in fixing that!

Select your top parent to get all your meshes lined up in. Then select the bottom of the lowest hierarchy you want moved. The tool goes from the bottom and moves every parent level up until it reaches your first selection, and deletes any empty groups left in its wake!

Joint Placer

Precise Joint Configuration (Maya)

There are many situations in a rig where you really do need to be precise with your joints.

This simple tool creates joints at the precise location of your selection, so you don't have to rely on guessing in the 3D viewport.

Additionally, you can also set the joint radius, whether they are chained together, and the naming conventions.
