Hi there!
I am a technical artist and game developer based out of western Pennsylvania. My professional focus is in cartoon style rigs, graphics, and making tools for various 3D engines.
My software of choice is Blender and Unity, but I am also versed in Autodesk Maya and UE5 (among many others...)
My primary workstation runs on Kubuntu Linux, along with an Unraid NAS, and a raspberry pi that I tinker with from time to time
About
We spend 1/3 of our entire lives at work, and my life goal is to be proud of what I did with that time- not just looking busy until the clock strikes 5pm for 60 years.
I love learning, connecting with people, small talk, big talk, and most of all, making things!
In the other 2/3's of my time, I can be found working on music, photography, gardening, and DIY projects that range from sewing to carpentry
Statement on AI
Generative AI (audio/imagery/videos) has no place in my work.
I find that LLM's like Claude and DeepSeek can be helpful/useful for a couple things... They are a very good 'rubber duck' for debugging, they can find code typos or spacing errors very quickly, and can be incredibly useful in learning new programming languages/frameworks (at a very basic level).
I meticulously review every piece of AI code that comes near my project; both for the sake of furthering my understanding, and protecting the integrity of the project. (AI frequently makes mistakes, and often needs herded in the right direction). I generally avoid using it for most things, but I won't shy away from using it if it's the right tool for the situation.
